National, November 20: Mr Pankaj Chadha, Managing Partner at Jyoti Steel Industries, today took over as Chairman of the Engineering Export Promotion Council of India (EEPC India), the apex body of engineering exporters sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India.He succeeds Mr Arun Kumar Garodia who held the position of Chairman for two years. EEPC India has been the face of Indian en- gineering exports for the last 69 years and is often regarded by the Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry as a model export promotion council (EPC). said, “We have set a goal of reaching $300 bil- lion of engineering goods exports by 2030, and a roadmap for the same is already in place. We will make an all-out effort to achieve the target and work towards making India a global hub for engi- neering goods. EEPC India has for decades been acting as an interface between the engineering industry and the government. We will continue to play this important role and deliver results proac- tively.” As an industry leader, Mr Chadha has held sever- al important positions in the past, including the post of Chairman of EEPC Western Region. He was a member of the Padmanabhan Committee which was constituted by the Reserve Bank of In- dia (RBI). His company, Jyoti Steel Industries, is currently exporting Steel/Stainless Bars/Wires to over 45 countries of the world with an export revenue of approximately Rs. 350 crores. It is one of the larg- est exporters in the SME sector from EEPC India. Mr Chadha was one of the youngest Chartered Accountants of his time, passing the examination at the age of only 21 years on his first attempt. He did his Bachelor of Commerce from the famous Sydenham College of Commerce and Economics in Mumbai.
