MONTHLY MUSINGS

From the Chairman’s Desk

Pankaj Chadha

As we see a constant shift in geopolitical power equations this month with our Hon’ble Prime Minister visiting Japan and China in the middle of 50 percent trade tariff including penalty imposed by USA on Indian exports to US, councils like EEPC India will play a vital role in helping Indian government tide over any challenge. EEPC India has for years helped the government in policy making and now the international situation is such that our council will indeed play a bigger role in sending suggestions to the government and helping them with analysis data to showcase which export sectors will be worst hit due to the tariff war and what is the way forward. Our teams are relentlessly working with data to help various ministries and industries to reflect on this new export and trade scenario.

Very soon we shall also be celebrating the Lab Equipment and Pharma Tech sectors of India through two major events. These are emerging sectors of Indian engineering goods and hold a lot of promise in future markets. As an endeavour to promote these two sectors manufacturing lab equipment, pharma machineries as well as medical equipment, EEPC India will be organising Pharma MachTech Expo 2025 and Labnext Expo 2025.

The meteoric rise of India’s GDP growth rate @7.8 % in Q1FY26 shows how resilient our economy is and also the fact that we have been able to bear all the external challenges in a very smooth and very determined manner. I think the industrial output is also growing and our export performance, as far as Engineering is concerned, is on the upward trend and for the first time, we have crossed USD 10 billion in this current fiscal, in a month. We are on the path to achieve our target of USD 120 billion and to realise the dream of Viksit Bharat.

Keeping that in mind let us all work together to make India shine.
