Utilisation of Foundry Slag

Converting it to Synthetic Aggregates for making roads

EEPC INDIA Technology Centre along with The Institute of Indian Foundrymen, Coimbatore organized the above Session with Key Note Address by Mr. Satish Pandey, Sr. Principal Scientist & Head, Flexible Pavement Division, CSIR – Central Road Research Institute, New Delhi. Mr. Pandey elaborated the technical aspects of building Roads using Industrial slag as Raw material and explained in detail the success story of building Roads using the slag from Steel Plants. He suggested that the same model can be tried for the Foundry sector provided the manufacturers decide collectively.

The gathering was welcomed by Dr. V S Saravanan, Honorary Treasurer, IIF – Coimbatore Chapter and speaker was introduced by Mr. D Prabhu, CEO, Origin CADD Infotech.

Dr. S Chandrasekar, Convenor, EEPC INDIA – Coimbatore Chapter briefed the gathering about the initiative and suggested the Foundries in Coimbatore can take advantage of inputs from Mr. Satish Pandey. Mr. J V Raja Gopal, Regional Director, EEPC INDIA assured support for the initiative.

The Session concluded with a Vote of Thanks from Dr. Arasu, Technical Committee, IIF Chapter
