Inspired by the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat for the health care sector, with an emphasis on accessibility, affordability, and holistic well-being for citizens across the globe, an integrated event was held that showcased the full spectrum of health care segments. Envisaged as a holistic exhibition, the event brought together diverse sectors, including pharma machinery, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, nutraceuticals, services, and AYUSH.

As a leading stakeholder of the event, EEPC India launched the first editions of two major shows: Pharma Machtech and Labnext Expo 2025, held from 4-6 September 2025 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. These new exhibitions focused on the pharma machinery sector and the laboratory and scientific instruments sector, respectively. The shows aimed to channel resources and enable industry participants to showcase technological developments, cutting-edge machinery, and the latest advancements in pharma manufacturing and diagnostics.

The strategic choice of Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, was made to encourage maximum participation from domestic and international companies, visitors, policymakers, and academia.

The 2026 edition continues that momentum with a sharper focus on business matchmaking, product discovery, and industry visibility for manufacturers, technology providers, service firms, and innovation-led organisations across the healthcare and scientific sectors.

Why this exhibition matters

By bringing together manufacturers, suppliers, buyers, government stakeholders, and knowledge partners in one place, the event creates a practical marketplace for new business opportunities and long-term industry relationships.

Sectoral View Pharmaceutical Machinery: Market Overview

The Indian Pharmaceutical industry is currently ranked third globally in terms of production volume after recording a CAGR of 9.43% in the last nine years. Some of the major segments of the industry include generic drugs, vaccines, contract research & manufacturing, biosimilar, and biologics, etc. India has highest number of pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities that comply with the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) and has 500 API producers contributing to around 8% of the worldwide API market. The country is also known as the “Pharmacy of the World” and is expected to reach USD 130 billion by 2030.

Such a vibrant and growing pharmaceutical market has also resulted in the growth and development of a large pharmaceutical machinery industry. As per a 2023 Position Paper by Indian Pharma Machinery Manufacturer’s Association (IPMMA), there are more than 300 companies in India with a total turnover of INR 5000 to 6000 crores.

The industry has been one of the earliest adopters of technology which has increased its demand in the global market. In the current scenario, automation is playing a significant role in the development of the industry. As demand for end-to-end automation increased across the world, Indian manufacturers also integrated automation in data gathering, storing and processing tools for more certainty in real-time decision making. As per the IPMMA Paper, between 2021 and 2030, Pharma automation market size is expected to increase from USD 6.16 billion to USD 12.35 billion. The industry has also witnessed the use of Robots and Collaborative Robots (COBOTS) especially in processing and packaging systems. The industry has also adopted Pharma 4.0 whereby Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Big Data are used to manage research & development and data handling.

Lab Equipment: Lab-equipment or laboratory equipment is one of the key sections of the Indian Pharma machinery industry. It includes machineries used in pharma and medical laboratories and can be broadly classified into:

  • Analyser systems/ equipment such as spectrometers, chromatographs, etc.
  • Centrifuges
  • Drying equipment for the laboratories such as Vacuum ovens, freeze dryers, spray dryers, etc.
  • Filtration systems
  • Homogenizers
  • Microscopes
  • Temperature Measurement devices, etc.
